Today we had a go at making a Medieval Trencher. A small brown loaf will hopefully be created with a well inside. This was made with lots of working and kneading of the dough. These were then left to prove. After that the children got to sample lots of breads to think about their own fabulous sandwich designs. Each group had also made suggestions for fillings. We eventually went for honey, cheese, quoin ham, salad and tuna. The Trenchers are in the oven as we speak.
