Hillary Class - Nursery & Reception

Welcome to Hillary Class

We like to do lots of fun activities in Hillary Class and no two days are exactly the same!

We focus on activities linked to maths, phonics, communication, language and literacy skills - usually in the mornings

After lunch our learning activities include play based opportunities to understand the world, and being creative and imaginative through music, story, exploring the natural world, art, craft and PE!

We have a lot of opportunities to play together, building compassionate relationships and learning to understand our own and others' feelings.

As well as a twice daily play-time, we have an hour for lunch and lots of time to get busy in the reception class-room or outside in our exclusive reception play area!

If you have any questions or queries please don't hesitste to speak with myself as Class Teacher or Mrs Morris & Miss Moody who are our Nursery and Reception Teaching Assistants.

We look forward to an exciting year ahead working in partnership so that every one of our children can have the opportunities that enable them to be the best they can be and 'shine like stars in the world'.

Thanks you for your support.

Welcome letter and information

Be Happy, Be Safe Day

Today in Hillary Class we took part in our Be Happy, Be Safe Day. The children thought about what makes them happy from smelling fresh flowers to having Mummy cuddles and even hearing their budgies squawking! Also we took part in some calming mindfulness yoga and then we learnt about road safety. The children learnt about how we need to cross the roads safely and why we need to wear reflective clothes.

Shared Reading

Today we had a lovely time with the children coming from Bannister Class for another shared reading session. We love sharing stories and listening to them too. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to talk about our favourite books and story characters too.
