We were so lucky this afternoon to be able to have a zoom meeting with Lizzie’s dad who lives in the Netherlands. He explained that today is a really important day in the Dutch calendar. We were told that normally there would be festivals and children selling toys and meeting and celebrating together. Unfortunately with the current restrictions this has not been possible. Martin also answered questions about why is orange so important and also why is Holland generally so flat. Amazingly 40% of Holland has been reclaimed from the sea. A big thank you to both Lizzie and Martin for their ideas and their time. Also thanks to the children for bringing in something orange.
